Gates Chili students found success at the 2026 New York State SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Championships, held April 22-24 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Students representing Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES 2 Career and Technical Education programs earned top honors across several competitions, showcasing their technical skills, leadership and dedication.
Two Gates Chili students earned first place finishes in their individual competitions: HVAC student Kayden F. in Plumbing and Dental Assisting student Brystol K. in Dental Assisting.Â
In team events, Child and Family Development student Ari C. earned second place as part of the Community Action Plan competition team, while Residential and Commercial Electrical student Dominic Q. contributed to a third place finish in Team Works. Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance student Chris B. also earned third place individually in Precision Heavy Operations.
Overall, Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES 2 CTE students earned medals in 11 competitions, highlighting the strength of the program and the talent of its students.
