Student laptop information

A student uses a laptop with a blue screenThe Gates Chili Central School District provides all students in grades 1-12 with a district-issued laptop to support their learning. To help reduce financial responsibility for families, a laptop protection plan is provided at no additional cost to cover damage or loss of devices and accessories. For questions about laptop damage deductibles, please contact your student’s assistant principal.

Students in grades 1, 5 and 9 will receive new laptops as part of the district’s four-year refresh cycle. Each laptop will be assigned to the student for four years before being replaced during the next cycle.

To receive a laptop, students must complete the following:

  1. Return their previous laptop (grades 5 and 9)
  2. Pay any damage/loss charges owed (grades 5 and 9)
  3. Parent/guardian must complete a new Laptop User Agreement for each new computer (grades 1, 5 and 9) in MySchoolBucks
