Fontenette is in his second year as head coach for the Spartans, after a very impressive 20-year coaching career, including at the college level for 10 seasons. His coaching philosophy is based on the acronym P.R.I.D.E, standing for "Personal Responsibility In Daily Effort."
Each week during the high school tackle football season, the Buffalo Bills, in partnership with Legends Global Merchandise, announce a Coach of the Week for Buffalo and Rochester based on section committee selections. The program recognizes Buffalo and Rochester area coaches not only for their efforts on the field, but their personal and team accomplishments off the field.
As part of the honor, Fontenette will receive a $1,000 grant for the Spartan football program and be recognized during a pregame ceromony before of the Bills versus Bengals game on Dec. 7.
